The rest of my knives are users expect a Italian switchblade smuggled into NY by my grandpa passed down from my dad. My most sentimental item is a knife, that switchblade.

I'm not getting any more knives I won't use. I collect other things comics, video games.

Too risky with house fires or theft. Though I will keep my safe queens. The saying goes use it or it will end up at the flea market. I will still collect and use knives just no safe queens, ill use all my future knives.

I was going to buy a alpha beast but I said do I really need another $400 dollar knife that I won't want to leave the house with and flip over carpet.

I always buy knives to use, but I can understand the appeal to have safe queens and good on you for limiting yourself to two.

What better knife than one so sentimental.
Personally my most sentimental knife is a Vic Classic that was in my grandfather's pocket when he died, it doesn't get used because he wore it out.
My next most sentimental knife however is my grandmother's unused classic that I put his knife's scales on, it does get used and is in my pocket right now.

Buy what you like and use or don't use what you what you want to. If you choose to keep "safe queens" it's no ones concern but yours. Nothing wrong with using whatever you own for the pleasure of using and nothing wrong with preserving the gems!

Knock your socks off. All I have in my safe is a couple of expensive watches and a few important documents.

If my house caught on fire, I would be more concerned with saving my family, dogs and a couple of very expensive musical instruments. The rest of my stuff is why I pay for content insurance. Almost all of the knives I own are replaceable.

If I did have a couple of knives in my safe, they would be strictly unused gems for investment purposes. Not my thing though.

YMMV...

I usually buy 2 , 3 or even 4 of a certain knife if I really like it. One to use. Some in the safe drawer. I just enjoy owning multiples. But I sometimes sell some of the duplicates to make room for new knives and duplicates. It's a vicious cycle.

If I was going to limit myself to two safe queens, I'd get a 6 inch Bob Loveless dagger, and a Joe Kious art knife. Oh hell... who am I kidding, I'll get them too if I ever have the money.
