I've experienced Buck's superb Customer Service in the past (an abused 110) and have read other many glowing reports. But how far will they go?

So I was a dipstick a while back. I have one of the Rush's where the lock just flopped back and forth w/o really locking. So my son told me that he'd just take it out and I'd have the knife w/ no lock. No big deal for me, I tighen my Leeks lock down so it doesn't work too. No problems for a couple years now and I'm aware of the slight risk. Well, he gets it apart, but looses a couple screws and maybe a spring. I'm not familiar enough w/ the insides to know.

So if I send it back to Joe, would they put it back together and add the missinig parts, or is this pushing Buck's kindness too far? I'm the dipstick in this here scenario.

I don't think you can expect *free* service on a customer-mangled knife...BUT...

You could send it in for sharpening & cleaning, with your phone number & a credit card number, and request they quote any repair charges...The sharpening was $6.95 last year...Explain what happened...and hope for the best...

I think Buck will take care of it...

(Of course, you could always call and ask)...

they probably shouldn't fix it under warranty but they probably would. worth a call and a try.

Yeah, I've been sitting on this one for several months now not wanting to send it in. But I really like the knife. Maybe I'll just sit on it, I dunno.

Buy a Wally World 110 to take its place temporarily; send the Rush in; then you can always sell the 110 on the For Sale Forum and get [some of] your $ back...but you won't want to sell it... ;)
