Iam a great fan of Linder knives, what does the forum think of the quality of Linder knives?

I don't have any but my son has the little skinner with stag handle scales and loves it. It seems to be a well made knife, and the stag really nice.

I've handled both good and bad ones. In general, the quality of manufacture seemed fair to real good, it is a material (steel used) that has kept me only buying them as gifts.

The ones I've examined seemed good, the first time I saw one, I asked an older knife dealer about them, and he said he sees them as "the Buck of Germany", not a bad comparision.

When ATS 34 was the steel to have, I bought a Linder Bowie, the Superedge 3, which has an ATS 34 blade.

Fit and finish are Ok, but the blade has a thick edge. Combined with a sabre grind this makes the knife a poor cutter. Regarding the strong tip of the blade, this knife probably was designed as a fighter with stabbing as its main function.

I didn't know this when I ordered the knife. One disadvantage of companies like Linder is the lack of available information about their products. Before I bought my first Spyderco or my first Benchmade I had read countless threads on their knives, so I pretty much knew what to expect.

If I should buy another Linder knife, which is not unlikely, I will try to handle it before.

The only knives I have that I don't use (aside from a handful of bayonets) are 4 of those fancy linder daggers. I love them, They have fancy decroative cast guards and pommels. Bone, stag or pearlex handles. I have one with a kris blade that is perfectly ground. I don't have too much experience with their working blades however. I recall going to their website a while back and they had a design a knife feature on it. You pick a blade style, a handle material and a choice of guards and pommels. It would show you the knife and I think you could order that knife from them.
