The latest two additions for my collection arrived today... I think they're pretty neat :-)

Btw... the crown stag on the mini nicker is awesome! :-)

That Mini Nicker has fantastic Stag!!! WOW!!!

Paul

Thanks!... Yeah, I was very impressed with it, and I usually don't care for stag. That said, I chose this material because I believe it is common for traditional German nickers to be handled with this material. Got good service once again from the online vendor. I can't mention the name of this vendor on this board, but a google search for these two items above will narrow down the search for this US west coast dealer. Love service to be quality... and my experience with these folks is just that, high quality service :-)

Congratz on getting these two great pattern.

The Mercator is a really great working knife. Did you get the stainless or carbon steel version?

The Mini Nicker has a great stag crown. A very very classy german pattern. I have several of these pattern. aqnd make a nice EDC.

Well done - you definitelly won´t regret the purchase.

I'm interested in Linder, they're not newcomers, but I don't here a lot of buzz on the forums about them either. Hard to go wrong with a K55K they're very venerable classics. You're collection is top notch from what I've seen.

Thanks, guys.... I do like the diversity the collection has taken :-)

Andi... the k55k is in their carbon steel :-)

I believe they (Linder) has become diversified in selling not just German made products, but alot of imported products (made to their specs). For instance... the mini linder nicker knife above has no marking of where it is made (does say linder and the german word for stainless on the blade). But, I believe the knife and sheath are made in spain, since spain is marked on the sheath's closure snap. Spain is okay in my book... would personally not be happy with the knife being china made.... just not my thing ;-) Both this and my linder mini bowie impress me as being very well made specimens.... cool factor on both is very high, imo :-)

I've seen Spanish Hen and Roosters recently. Kinda weird in my book. An H&R Straight Razor, and a little Stag, Stockman. Those German cutlery companies are getting tricky in this day and age it seems.

Yes, I agree... they should have the place of origin somewhere on the blade. But, it seems their laws don't push such things in their country :-(

I hope the Linder isn't Chinese made... I really want one now...

Awesome Mercator k55k. I was thinking of purchasing one and after seeing this I think it sealed the deal.

Nah... the sheath having the spain marking is the key here... If the knife were made in china, then it would not be cost effective to make it's sheath in spain. The other way around would be more plausible... A Spain made knife having a chinese made sheath.... kinda like my USA KaBar has a Mexico made sheath :-)

This picture is the one shown for these linder miniature nicker knives on the site I ordered it from. As one can see, the crown stag on mine was likely no fluke... they really are quite nice, it appears :-)

Very interesting knife Jimmy. My son has three German knives an Otter Anchor messer an M162 and the Mercator K-55.
We seem to have overlooked the Linder line. Nice to see your pics. The Germans really know how to do stag. They also make a knicker with an antelope horn handle!

The antelope handle version looks pretty cool as well... and who knows, it may find it's way into my collection some day :-)

Btw... the vendor I purchased these knives from, sells the k55k at $22.95 and the mini crown stag nicker for $37.95. I have seen the mini nicker sell for right around $50, so this particular vendor is not only fair priced, they also give good and fast service. I do not know where the stag is found for these knives.... maybe some mini deer to go with the mini knives, lol! ;-)
