Line the sheath to protect belt loop stitching?

When the lower end of a belt loop happens to be in the knife blade compartment of the sheath, would lining the sheath to protect the stitching be a valid concern?

I wouldn't have thought so, but it really depends on the knife and the position of the loop relative to the throat of the sheath. You might snag the stitching when putting the blade away if the loop is very close to the mouth of the sheath.

I f the sewing is inlet into the leather slightly - use your stitch groover - then there should be no problem. On the other hand lining can be a selling point for certain segments of the customer base.............

I don't have any type of groover yet.

What if I pre-drilled the holes and gently "connected-the-dots" with a razor blade (being careful not to go to deep, and just scoring the surface)...would that work to bury the thread, or would it create bumps the tip of the blade would get caught up on?

That is how I make my creases. It works well, but be careful not to cut right through the other side. Use a fresh blade!
