Hi guys,

I saw the knives at the DesRosiers' table at Blade and liked the look of the little torx head bolts for pins...so I thought I'd do one.
This blade has been heat treated for a while, just laying around, so I thought I'd play around with the pin configuration.
It's about 9.5" of W2, stainless guard, and black linen micarta with stainless bolts and thong hole liner.

I usually do a single 1/8" pin, let me know what you think.

Thanks,

Tad

Not too sure about the curvature from handle to tip....kind of extreme, but I am sure that there are a lot of potential buyers that will dig it!

Pretty nice hamon.

Thanks, Dave.
STeven, yes it is pretty heavy on the curve...more drop than I usually do. The blade was kind of a cull so I may hang on
to this one. Also nowadays I would typically harden the clip as well, so I'll likely beat this one up myself rather than selling it.

Nothing wrong with that, amigo!

Whole lot of makers never get to keep one knife with their name on it, and I always thought that was a shame!

dunno how I feel about bolts - is this a takedown then Tad or are they just acting as pins?

Yea, why not keep it for yourself.

It still has your usually curves in it. Like a mini kukri with a bit of added class.

Really nice as always Tad.
I normally prefer pins, but the screws work on this one.

Thanks, Ben and Philip.
Philip, no its not a takedown. In fact the screws are countersunk and epoxied in pretty good.
Just acting as pins with a different look.

Sweet knife, Tad. Nice hamon. That'd be a fun knife to have.

looks cool. bit different, but still cool. I like the finish combination. The screws are not what I would do, but they look fine, here. (I guess I would use them for some things, though).

I like it.

It also reminds me of a Khukri, but more of a Hanshee style which is specifically made for fighting.

Tad, I love the shape of this one, not sure about the Torx screws though. My preference would be pins....Different strokes for different folks I guess.

I wouldn't like the torx screws if it was wood but it does work with the carbon fibre - gives it a real engineering look.

lol...as if! I'll bet you 10 bucks that in under six months that knife will belong to someone else :)

Ha. Well, Lorien as it goes....its hard to hang on to one. It is gone.

I got an offer I couldn't refuse...a very nice trade to add to my little knife collection.

Good call.

Tad
