Liner Chip

I seem to recall reading about this miner issue before but I couldn't find anything in the search. Anyway , I notice that the last two Yojimbo2's I bought (w/S30V) each have a very small chip in the liner located in the same spot. This tells me that it must be inherent to how the liner is made. Has anyone else found this on their Spydies' liners ?

I wonder what it is exactly that causes the chipping. It's certainly no big deal and it is not noticeable unless one is scrutinizing the knife (like I do upon receiving a new one). Just curious.

You are correct, it is a result of the manufacturing process. Whichever method is used to cut the liners, laser or waterjet not sure which, causes those little knicks. On the plus side, it is one of the most reliable ways to tell if your PM2 or Yojimbo 2 is authentic.

Haha that's a good point. The chip is small enough that it doesn't bother me. Plus it's on a nested liner tucked away.

Starting and stopping point of the laser cutting process. Every single piece has them.

Good to know. When you say "every single piece has them" do you mean every Spyderco with nested liners and Compression Lock ?
