Liner/frame lock issues

OK I can't find this via search so I'll ask fresh -what is the deal with disassembling these types of knives??? Often when I do so, usually to make some ill-conceived mods, I have a problemn on reassmble b/c the blade will not be centered anymore, it will rub against the liner opposite the lock when closing. Sometimes the lock-up will suffer. Sometimes it will be much harder to open, as if tension on the blade is greater than it was origianlly. I have tried every sequence of tighteniong the handle screws vs. the pivot screw, and it doesn't seem to make a difference. What the !#@!%#!!???

Questions , what parts if any did you modify ? Is it possible you lost a part when disassembling it such as a washer ? What knives are we talking about here as well.

I have had similiar happen when I have changed washers, or modded the lockbar , etc.

this has happened to me whether I mod parts or not, & all the parts are still there. I found out that by holding the blade closed and certered while tightening the screws I can avoid most of the blade rubbing problem. But my new ZDP mini-Cyclone either fires fast with lousy lock-up or fires slow with ok lock-up, can't figutre out what the problem is.

Had the same problems with cheap knifes.
