Liner Lock "BITE"

Ok, I spent the weekend putting together a frame lock liner lock. It came out pretty good, but the liner lock "Bites" and is difficult to dis-engage. I polished the blade where it meets the lock, and the top of the lock, but it still sticks! I had to use a screw driver to dis-engage it. I did mill off some of the liner material so the lock wasn't too stiff to work but how do I get it to opperate smoothly? Should I remove some more material from the top of the lock, or torch it to make it harder?
Thanks in advance.

two things are super important...one is the angle....7 or 8 degrees....the other using 6/4 ti...soft stuff sticks big time....try bending the lock lever so that it just barely engages and see if that doesnt solve your problem...it only needs to go over a little....

Sounds like too much pressure on the lockbar. Is the blade centered or pushed to one side?

Ok, the blade is centered, maybe off just a CH, and I am using 6ALV4 titanium, that is 3/32 thick. The angle is 5 or 6 degrees, not very steep at all. I took the scales off this morning and then put it back together and it was a little easier to unlock it but it was still difficult, espically if you give the knife a good snap! I think that I am going to have to file some more material off to make it seat easier. Any more info would be appreciated.
Thanks

Chuck, all you might need is to seat the lock. With every knife I make, I snap the
blade open then I "whack" the spline on a wooden table. If the blade has an edge, be
sure and protect your knuckle.

Is the end of the lockbar square (90 degrees)? It should be. You want it to hit flat against the back of the blade. Tapered one way, it will bite in, the other way it will tend to slide off.

Still sounds like too much tension. You said .092 thick liners? You might have to relieve some at the back of the split.

Without seeing it, hard to tell.

sounds like you have two problems...if the angle is too shallow you will have a problem with sticking...too much contact...and also as stated above...if it is a frame lock with .0925 sides, you need to mill a slot at the rear of your lock bar like chris reeves does, I would cut off around .042 and leave it at .050 or at most .060 at the web....go to chris reeves site and look at the drawing of the sebenza and all the parts. 3/32" is too thick to leave it.

Ok, I will try seating the lock. I did mill off some material like on a sebenza, otherwise there would be no way to unlock it. I think that once it gets worked in a little it should be ok. I think that I will also have to remove some material from the opposite liner so it I will have more room to put my thumb in to unlock it.
Thanks
