Hello out there!
a friend of mine recently got onto an old lot his father and a partner owned, but the partner passed away. No one has been in there for like 30 years! There are a bunch of cars and trucks and parts there. He went in to check the place over, and found a single blade knife with a liner lock on the ground. He gave it to me to identify, looks like I need to post pics. It looks like a 110 body, but with a notched out area under top bolster like one finger grip. it has a clip point looks like stainless 110 style blade, with Buck in cursive on the Tang, and no numbers or pattern. This also has a liner lock, which doesnt hold the blade in place very well by the way! The cutout in the rear where the lock depression would go has no raised backspring, it appears to tightly fit the contour of that groove/cutout. I believe it has four rivets, bolsters look n.s. instead of brass. any ideas?

Thanks for nailing it, will try to post pics real soon, as it is a 110 liner lock but looks a little different. Would Buck take this knife back and repair the side to side and frontwards/backwards play? Thanks.

We will need to see some photo's. If the knife is a factory made and not modified it will still carry the Buck Knife lifetime warranty. However, if this knife is a non-factory custom no they will not work on it.

That is a right nice looking knife but I also noticed the liner lock appears to be all the way over.

An escaped prototype maybe? Look very close at the liner lock bar. Are there any numbers or letters on it? Or partial numbers? Here is a pic from a prototype made by Wild Bill Cody for Buck.

I will check, but dont think so. My friend swears it was gated and locked solid for 30 years where he found it, in Bridgeport CT. Who knows, looks like someone broke the tip maybe trying to break into a car there? he said a 56 Chevy Nomad had the rear stolen out of it...

The blade on your knife looks right. No nail nick, correct stamp, right shape. Interesting knife.

A nice assortment to look at. Both production versions. A prototype, and a BCCI Club Sample knife.

I agree with jb. Send in for spa treatment "Attention Joe Houser". I wouldn't make any changes to the knife. Very cool specimen.
