Ok so I am digging around in the bottom of my gun cabinet and come across several folders and f.b's I had forgotten all about. Namely a EDI Genesis that is pretty mint looking. Also a 975 that is really minty. Anyhow this ain't about them, well it is sort of. The EDI has a liner lock on it that releases really really easily. I forgot how nice and slim this knife is and actually very well made save for the liner thing. Any fix for this? thanks and keepem sharp

Someone here must have an idea of how to make the lock stick better so it doesn't release easily? It was known problem with these knives if I recall. Didn't know it when I bought it though. keepem sharp

A liner lock should not stick. There's probably nothing wrong with it.

I have read that you can fold a small piece of paper up until it is the right size for your application and wedge it between the liner and the scale. This puts more tension on the lock so that it engages harder and is harder to unlock.

You can also take apart the knife and bend the liner a little bit more. You risk possibly messing things up with this method so I would try the other first.

If it doesn't demonstrate any vertical play then it's working perfectly - the way I like them anyway. And it's going to be much less sticky if the contact is steel on steel

Longbow , does it disengage on it's own under light use or... the dreaded and much argued spine whack test ?

It could be that the tip of the liner-lock is too smooth and gets no purchase.

Is that the case ? If so I recommend taking it apart and using small piece of wood for backing the 120 grit sandpaper , just rough the face of the linerlock up some without removing material.
That has worked for me in the past.
