Hi,
I recently got an Emerson Commander (BTS, Left handed). I've played around with it quite a bit simply due to the novelty of it and the wave feature. After many repetitions of opening, I've noticed the liner lock has been going further and further up on the ramped edge of the blade. This occurs the most when opening rapidly (such as utilizing the wave hook).
In fact, once or twice I have had the liner lock almost completely overshoot the ramped edge of the knife and get jammed. Upon closer inspection, I noticed my liner lock is only engaging in just a small region of its surface area (closest to to sharp side of blade) possibly due to a manufacturing error. Because of this, the liner lock is receiving heavy wear and is therefore shorter in the area that contacts the blade than when new. BTW, the liner is centered with the blade, however when it springs out it overshoots its rest position due to momentum. This is what causes the jamming.
I was wondering has anyone else had this problem? If you sent your knife to Emerson for repairs, what exactly did they do to fix it? Replace the liner?
Thanks,
Jeff
