Liner Lock question for horseman

Guys,
Just bought my first Emerson Knife. It's the most I've ever spent on a blade which isn't perhaps saying to much as most of my modest collection is old bucks, case trappers etc.
I ended up buying the Emerson Horseman. Like it very much and have been reading about maybe some break-in being required on some Emerson's.
My question has to do with the liner lock. When I go to close the blade I find that it's way more comfortable to use my nail to depress the lock to disengauge it. There is considerable pressure required to release it and actually hurts the flesh of the thumb if I decide to go that way in closing. Can anyone tell me if this is somewhat normal on these knives and if it will get easier? I am comparing it to my other liner-lock knives that I have. Thank you.

When I first got my Horseman it was also difficult to release the liner lock. Use some good lube at the contact points of the blade tang and the liner lock. If it doesn't ease up within a few days give EKI a call. They will make it right. It is better that it is too tight than too loose.

Just draw on the contact with a lead pencil and the graphite from the lead should ease it up from the sticking until it breaks in and then you won't need to do it anymore.
