I've been working on this off and on for nearly a year...with a few knives in between. This was one of those that never seemed like it was quite finished.

Astounding. I'm sitting here being blown away by it, so I'm not able to say too much else right now.

A piece of art extraordinaire Dennis. A collectors dream piece. My hats off to you Amigo.

Thanks guys...

I almost forgot to point out an unusual feature of this knife... As you can tell my photography skills are somewhat limited, but I tried to capture the leading edge of the bolsters...Notice how they wrap around to the front (you can't see the liners from the friont...They're hidden by the wrap edge of the bolster). Something I wanted to try...let me tell you it was a real bitch...hours of hand sanding and tweaking to get it to fit just right! Not sure all the work was worth the subtle effect...but I do think it looks pretty cool...and it's not something I'd ever seen done before.

My goodness ! That is an awesome piece of art.
My favorite aspect of this so far , is the filework and the colors used on the concept itself.
The MOP was an excellent choice for contrast.

Very , very nice

That one breaks the sound barrier.

Thanks for picking up on that. The initial idea for this knife came about while I was watching a show on the Discovery channel about jet plane design. And it occured to me that the whole air foil design concept might make an interesting profile for a folder. I sketched it out and then tweaked the heck out of it until it finally came together.

Early on I had sent some sketches to a friend to show him what I had in mind...Here's one of them:

I was originally going to go with plain 416 bolsters in the front....but while sorting through my box of damascus I noticed the similarity between the floral pattern in the Eggerling damascus and the flower I had already planned for the MOP...I couldn't resist incorporating it into the knife.

Many thanks to all of you.

WOW!!!!!!! Awesome job! Keep it up!

Thanks you Dwayne! Coming from a filework "guru" such as yourself I take that as quite a compliment. :)

Dennis, I just tell it Like I see it! That's sweet work. I make what I make and hope people like it, and there are knives that I would never make some style because they just ain't me but I like'em. I love knives and guns and I love what you've been doing with yours though they don't look like mine, they really get my juice flowing. I love what Terry Primos does, I don't make knives that look like his But I do love'em. I also love the Bowies by all the different makers and love to hold them and admire them but don't want to build any. You're doing a great job and over the years I've been watching in the background and your work is growing & growing getting sweeter all the time. Later! Dwayne
