liner lock - why not even thicker?

Regarding the AR/GB folders, I was wondering if it would be possible to make them with even thicker liners, at least on the lock side. Granted, they already have the thickest liners around, but if they were made even thicker and the G10 slightly thinner, you would have something akin to a frame lock, but still with G10 scales on both sides.
Maybe the G10 must be at least as thick as it is for strength? Maybe a thicker liner would do nothing to increase strength? I have no idea. But it seems like a good idea.
By the way, I'm not bashing these knives at all. I have an AR and it is the strongest folder I've ever handled, or even heard of. When I compare it to most other liner locks, it makes me wonder why all the others have such thin liners. Makes no sense to me.

If you ever get a chance to look at a sebenza and an AR side by side the lock on the AR is about the same thickness as the framelock. The AR is just a framelock with a G10 scales. :p

how about they just ditch the G-10 on one side all together, make a strider frame-lock, how how about having G-10 only on one side, and while your at it maybe make it a little smaller. hmmm, it could be called the SNG, Man im a GENIOUS!!!!
Mick and Duane, you can use this idea, as long as i get the first one!
(end of daydream)
:p :p :p

The lock on an AR is about a third thinner than the Sebe.

As the AR liner (.1") is slightly over half the thickness of the blade (.19), I seriously doubt failure is likely. Also, the AR liner seems to lock up with the blade better than the Sebenza. Both lock up very well, of course.

If the AR has a weak spot, I'd think it would be the stop pin, not the liner lock. However, since Mick & Duane believe the stop pin's adequate, I trust them.

They purposely make the stop pin somewhat "undersized" so that if something has to fail, it will be the stop pin, which is easily replaceable. At least that's the explanation as I recall it.
Yes, the liner lock in the AR is plenty strong but why not make it even stronger? Overbuilt is a good thing.
I've got several Sebenzas and they seem to lock up extremely well. But with a frame lock, it's easier to move the liner in a stressfull situation due to your grip than it is with a liner lock. At least it seems that way to me. Hence, a super think liner lock would be the ultimate.
