Liner lock

kershaw skyline, spyderco tenacious, RAT-1, kershaw JYD

you could also get a kershaw OD-1, which is a framelock with a lock stop.

Kershaw Junkyard Dog II. I got mine online for $49 shipped, it's the best linerlock I've ever used. the liner is incredibly thick, lockup is solid with 0 play in any direction, G10 handles, and silky smooth flipper opening. I love mine. If you are looking for something smaller or cheaper, then check out a Kershaw Skyline or Zing at the local wally world.

Yup, just repeating what others have said, give the Kershaw line a try: Zing, Skyline, OD-1, etc. You really get your money's worth!

Buck Vantage pro. Paul Bos heat treated s30v and beautiful machined g10 for right about $50!

If you don't like that style then I'd go for a Kershaw. My favorite liner locks in that price range are the Zing and the OD-1. Or a Scallion if you want something smaller.

Spyderco Tenacious and Kershaw SKyline are my go to choices for questions like this. Between the two, it depends how beefy you want your knife to be.

Another recommendation for the Ontario RAT-1. Even with my expensive knives, this is still my go-to beater folder.
