liner overengagement?

Question:

I have an Emerson Commander and love it. However, if it is snapped open or thumbed open hard, the liner overengages, and goes past the blade tang. It is still in contact with the tang, but barely so. I am thinking about getting a Mini CQC7 and a Mach 1, but the question of overengagement is a large factor. Do all of Emerson's folders' liners engage on the far (right) side of the tang? Anyone else having these problems?
 
Hmmm well it shouldn't be doing that, and it doesn't sound like something you can really fix yourself (but I may be wrong). I'd e-mail Emerson, I'm sure they'll sort it out for you.
 
I had a commander that did that. send it back to the factory, they will fix it for free. All emerson knives are different, ive found no 2 are the same. Some are F-ed up, just send em back. Of 6 of the emerson knives ive had only 1 had a messed up lock. i think your odds are pretty good of getting a good one.
