All this talk about the just released '98 Commanders got me to thinking. While I'm not a Commander or wave fan (I know this puts me in an unenlightened minority), I do enjoy the rock solid feel of my production Emersons. But I have noticed that the liners in my 7's are noticeably thinner than those in my Mach1. It seems strange to me that EKI wouldn't use the same stock for both knives. Can anyone tell me how the liners in the Mach1 compare to those of the '98 Commanders?
I don't have anything to measure the exact thickness.
After y'all got me paying attention I couldn't help but think how nice and tough a prodo-7 would be with Mach1 or thicker liners and the wider grip serrations like on the newer knives.
Can anyone tell me what thickness of titanium stock is used in the Custom 5 & 6 liners?
Sue me, I had to bring this around to the 7 since I find it easier to carry than a Commander or unfortunately, even my Mach1.
