Linerless FRCP durability

I saw a video where the poster had a crack in the scales of his Manix 2 LW around the pivot area, which got me wondering if it is better to have steel liners in a knife, since being a Manix with it's small steel inserts allowed it to be still be functional? But then I have to wonder how you go about cracking scales like this. Is FRCP alone sufficient on say the Native Chief lightweight? Because I've had no issues with my linerless FRN original Pacific Salt and would think the blade on a native chief would snap before a handle would give out? Or is FRN a bit stronger/ less brittle than FRCP?
