Liners in the G10 folders: Am I the only one that wishes they were there?

I love CS folders. I love my Spartan. I would LOVE a 4 inch Talwar, but I just don't trust the G-10 without steel or aluminum liners, even if they're just abbreviated like the Espadas. I know G10 is very strong, but I worry it could crack around the pivots or stop pin, not to mention the internal wear from opening and closing the knife. I have G10 chip on me when dropped before. Nothing major, mind you, but a chip nonetheless. If it can chip from being dropped, it could crack under stress, right? Am I being totally ridiculous, or what?

I have the same concerns with my CS recon 1,I checked out some youtube videos ,they were putting them through the paces and all seemed well,I am pretty sure they were the linerless, anyhow if worst comes to worst CS will probably make it right
ps-I am glad they are not that expensive, can hardly wait for the xhp versions of their lineup

Take a Talwar, clamp the blade vertically in a vice, stand on the handle. It won't break, and the lock will still open and close when you get off.

I think I recall them hanging over 300 pounds on a G10 Espada without damage.

CutleryLover on YouTube broke a Cold Steel knife, it was the blade that broke, not the handle.

Steel can chip when dropped.

The linerless American Lawmen I had was plenty strong enough. The lack of metal liners kept it's weight down too.

They're stronger than you will ever need them to be even without the liners and you save quite a bit of weight. You really dont need to worry about it.

I wouldnt worry about it. Any abuse placed on a folder thats heavy enough to break G10 is gonna wreck other stuff too.

Their G-10 is super strong. I like the lighter weight. I am totally unconcerned.

Yep, I'm with this guy. If you manage to snap those G10 handles, you need to quit running over your knives with armored vehicles.

I prefer liners, even if very thin, mainly because I like a little more weight in the handle than many knives provide. My Recon 1 tanto has as rigid a handle as any of my knives with liners, but I'd like it even more with liners.

I prefer liners. Not for strength issues, but for other reasons I have mentioned in different posts
