I just purchased a SERE and should receive it tomorrow. What are the liners made of. If they are Stainless, has anyone had any corrosion or rust problem with them?

They are super thick stainless. I have had no problem with corrosion at all. The lockup is excellent.

I found that the edges on mine were slightly sharp so that the knife was initially a little uncomfortable to hold in a tight grasp. I took a Dremel and a light abrasive wheel and carefully smoothed them. It is super comfortable now. Also, pick up some heat shrink tubing at the hardware store or Radio Shack and put a little piece on the thumbstuds. Makes em much more comfortable and gives a nonskid positive traction grip.

No problems whatsoever with rusting and mine has been washed numerous times and then tossed back in my pocket.

Sorry to hear Dennis, that the thumbstuds catch on your uniform pocket. I haven't had any such problems myself but if I were a police officer, that's the knife I would want to carry.

I believe the reason they catch is the angle of my uniform pockets coupled with the fact that my duty weapon hangs down over the pocket. I have to draw the knife out at an angle and when I do the studs catch on my pocket, if I'm not careful. I haven't had any problem if I'm out of uniform. I really like the knife.
