Tai I have always liked your work and this is no exception, very nice piece and I cant wait to see it all finished.

You certainly put the "shameless" in self-promotion!:rolleyes:

Not a lot of makers out there posting pictures before the blade is actually a knife, unless it is a "how-to".

Here’s how I did it!

First I hand forged the blade to shape, then used an abrasive wheel type bench grinder to sweeten up the profile a bit and next went in with files and sand paper for the stock reduction. The hardening heat was done with charcoal in a muffle furnace, and then it was deep edge quenched in vegetable oil. The blade was etched and finished with finishing pads, abrasive powders, steel wool and polishing crème.

I shot the image on a piece black velvet type material and the lint looked kind of like stars,… hence the title “Lines In Space”.
