lines in woodcraft strop leather

don't know if you can see them but there are 2 lines in the leather. if you run your finger past them you can feel that they dip down a little. i'm wondering if this is a problem, it seems to be. wouldn't it not work right with these 2 lines there? this is my first strop, so i didn't want to rush things and end up having to get more leather.

No, its good it will not effect anything. Its just the natural imperfections of the leather. You can see in the pic that mine is not perfect either, when the strop gets well used you can take a palm sander with some 150 or 220 grit to renew the surface and then it will be flat but again it will not hurt the outcome of the edge.
