Talonite!
This is the first time I am working with this, takes a bit of getting used to. Scales are some G10 laminates I made a while back and was waiting to use.
Some new things on this knife include small screws: M1.6, and of course I broke one of those tiny taps in the titanium, what is new... I had some difficulty with the makers mark that I normally use a carbide cutter for (blade was too hard) it also doesn't etch! So, I engraved it on the titanium bolster (they are pinned with 6 titanium pins) which was a tad terrifying as the whole knife was complete and any mistake there would not be recoverable. Normally I cut the mark early on in the build so a mistake can be rectified or a new part made. Anyway it was also my most technically challenging build as the initial set of titanium liners did not work out, I was polishing that turd and painting the sinking titanic for most of a day. Because the blade was cut and drilled I made the knife the wrong way round (for me), using the blade, it just took longer and the chances of success and a good lock up etc. was lower. Also, lining up all the screws and lines with blade in open and closed (sounds insignificant now I guess) was a little tricky. A very enjoyable build. I sharpened the blade at a slightly bigger angle and left it a tad thicker, that was the advice. It feels very slick, almost teflon like. I tested it at HRC 51-52 and its 2,3mm thick.
Linjat is a place in Finland known for the roads lining up, it means 'lines" or "the lines'.
OAL 163mm 6,4 inch
Blade 70mm 2,75 inch
Folded 96mm 3,8 inch
45g 1,6 ounces
Thanks for looking, comments and questions are encouraged!
