Link and Run

thanks hollowdweller --i read it all & i believe hikers should always be prepared for the worst. i spent a nite in rain at 40 degrees sleeping on my knees to conserve body heat. i always carried dessicated liver pills for energy & took a chance drinking stream water, my truck was way in stuck miles from regular traffic. i would'nt have made it if it had gotten colder or i had'nt stayed in a tight ball to conserve body heat.even in the summer i carry a space blanket & tape & gauze to stem blood flow from oldmetal or barbed wire. after walking 8 miles in the nestucca river area [oregon] the interior service picked me up & got me to the river road.the tow truck people whom had lived out there all their lives asked how i had gone so deep since they even did'nt go in that far.
