We just got a new 1 1/2" HP motor for the Coote :D Anyway between the new larger motor and the regular-v belts the vibration has increased somewhat...Ive been told that the "Link-Belt" belts help to reduce vibration..Any comments on this? Thanks

I had the same issue with my Coote when it was new. The link belt solved the problem, they are absolutely worth the money.

On my grinder, I just went straight for a link belt, but it was very noisy for me. I had to switch back to a heavy-duty grade belt. Now it works wonderful. But I haven't heard anything but good things about link belts. Maybe it's just me.

I use a link belts for both my motors on my grinder. It is easy to make a new one and they do run quietly. Just the initial outlay is a bit more but should last longer and run smoother and cooler.

They are no more a problem than a V-belt. Once the links are locked together they will stay as one unit until YOU unlock it! To unlock it you have to twist it and unlock two links so it ain't coming apart on it's own!

The 1/2" size was linked in this thread to that seller on ebay...is that the size to get for a standard 3 step pulley system? There is also a 3/8" size and I want to make sure I get the right one.

Thanks!
