I just got my Link 1776 in M390 for $75. Really liking it. Usually I do not like metal handles. On the 1776 texture is good not slick, still cold though.

Looking at this knife I am find myself thinking modifications. Seems like a model crying out for a ZT version. CF handle, bearing, Ti liners....

Until then thinking what I could do or have someone on BF do. Lighting it up, stand offs and changing the non clip side scale.

Anyone modd’d a 1776?

What did, or would, you change?

I would love to pick one of these up!! If it was on bearings I probably already would have. When taking apart a Blur recently I saw why you don’t often see many modded speedsafe knives. The milled pocket and groove for the torsion bar is quite intricate.

There is a ZT version. It's the 0095. Looks just like the Link without the assisted opening some can't stand and, a $200+ price tag.
Love my Link. Have no idea when the assisted opening will fail but I really don't care. So far, love it. $40.

Bk14. Are milledpocket etc all on one side or both?

SoCaledc I did not see the silimarity with the 0095! I did not like it when first saw listed. Not exactly the same, harpoonish blade top and some other stuff, have not handled the 0095. I was struck with how close my zt 770 that I used to open the box was. Blade is different profile, but blade length and handle very similar, both speedsafe linerlocks. Big $ and weigh differences.

On speed safe. I have some from 2000-2004 that still work great, some were edc for years, no failures. The only probelm was the little plastic safety on my leek gave out, did not miss it.
