can someone with some inside knowledge please tell me when the lionspy and the junior dialex are coming out! i've been saving my lunch money to buy them both, even if it is at the same time! infact, i'm starting to shake cause i'm going through withdrawals from not buying a knew knife in like a week or two...help me!

I think the only people that know is Spyderco at this point. There is always a tentative schedule for release date becuse if unforseen events delay the release, and the "deadline" is not met, it prevents meltdowns. Let's hope Sal chimes in.

At least one dealer had them both with August delivery dates, which makes me think they're probably not more than a month or three out.

Not sure about the Junior Dialex, but I heard from one dealer that the Collector's Club LionSpys are expected to ship next week. I would assume that the regular (non-CC) ones shouldn't be more than a week or two behind those.

I got a response back from spyderco about the lionspy last week saying that there was a delay in materials and that the release date was getting pushed back sometime in the fall..very vague

I have one of these on preorder but have not heard of the Collector's Club. What is this?

From spyderco forums:

"This is a copy of the letter we send if you are inquiring about our collector program. I hope it helps answer some questions. If you would like further information or have questions please contact the program administrator, her name is Kelly Williams. You can reach her at 800-525-7770.

Thank you for your interest in our Collector's Program.

Below are the details on how the program works and how you can get started with your program as a Spyderco Collector.
~ 201 pieces of the first production of each new sku will be numbered (00-200) for Spyderco Collectors.

~ A new sku is any Spyderco knife being produced for the first time.

~ Spyderco does not sell directly to the consumer; all collector knives must be purchased through an authorized dealer in your area who is currently purchasing directly from Spyderco, Inc. (If you have trouble finding a local dealer, please let us know and we can help locate someone).

~ Each end line customer is limited to one collector number.

~ A letter accompanies each new Spyderco knife and is stamped with the company seal.

~ Generally, the SpyderEdge version of the knife is selected to be numbered, if the knife is only available in a combination SpyderEdge/PlainEdge, this will be numbered.

~ If you choose to join our collector's club, you will be asked to sign an agreement that requires you to purchase each numbered knife. If you refuse any new numbered knife, it will be assumed that you are forfeiting your collector number for all the future numbered knives.

~ We request that you pick up and pay for each numbered model within 15 days of delivery to your dealer.

~ New items considered variations will not be numbered with your collector number followed by a V unless you are enlisted to receive ALL variations. Variations may include a change in one to two of the following: the handle material, the edge configuration, the blade steel, the clip style, or the blade style (e.g. from a flat ground to a hollow grind).
~ If it is ever determined that a collector knife is defective under warranty, a new knife will be issued and engraved with a period following the number to designate the second numbering. Spyderco, Inc. reserves the right of ownership to any knife replaced under warranty.

Kelly has a list of open numbers with the knives available for each of those numbers."

Slider817, I believe you are correct. It is just one more great knife I will not buy because no lefty version is produced.

Good news for the Junior, as dapagco (Spyderco's online guy) posted this little tidbit in the Catcherman thread (post #58) over on the Spyderco forums:

Ok! I know it's a little late, but better late than never! I'm going to try to answer some of your questions.

If you live in Denver, you can pick one up at SFO today just like you can any other knife.

Our website does allow a different shipping address than the billing address, so that should not be a problem.

There is no special code required for purchasing the Catcherman. You can buy it just the same as you can any other knife on spyderco.com, just with a restriction of 2 per person. We might lift that ban depending on how quickly they sell.

We have a mobile website that has been tested with the latest iOS and Android operating systems and appears to be rendering as of this morning just fine, although you are redirected to the main site if you wish to purchase.

As far as other products, specifically the Native5 and Junior, I would pay very close attention to the "New Products" section for the rest of the week. But no promises :)
