Lion Steel knives

Lionsteel has been around a long time, and make excellent knives in all three big categories, folders, slipjoints, and fixed blades. I have owned many Lionsteel knives over the years, no complaints with any of them.

I have two M7s and one M5, all in Sleipner steel, which gets sharp and does not seem to corrode easily. The machining is impeccable.

All three were too thick behind the edge from the factory and needed to be reprofiled. I have seen others find this as well, on most models. Typically a CYA move by companies.

It's an Italian company and like all Italian companies they excel at "designing" sh*t.

I own 3 Lion Steel designed knives:

1) ROK - M390 Integral Ti Folder
2) M4 - M390 Fixed Blade
3) Spyderco LionSpy Ti Folder (C157GTI)

They're all "pretty" knives.

Funny thing is, I thought that I had a SR-1 too because it was still listed in my knife inventory but I can't find it & now vaguely recall selling it. I'll have to check my sales records to verify it. 🤷

LionSteels definitely trend thicker behind the edge in my experience, which may be of concern to those who prioritize "slicyness".. but all of mine were functionally sharp ootb. Fit & finish on models I've owned/handled has been excellent; they do some really nice work with aluminum/titanium. and g10/micarta for that matter..

They make their blades too thick and the use of nylon washers on some models is a little odd, but the quality is excellent. My TM1 has the smoothest action of any lockback I've tried, and they do a lot of integrals and contoured milling on their handles (e.g. the 5 axis machining on my TiSpine).

I have two Lionsteel traditionals. Both are top notch fit and finish. Blade steel on both is M390, and I am fully satisfied with the performance.

Anyone have info on Lion Steel knives . Quality of steel or other comments ?
I have a few Lionsteel folders, over almost 15 years old, the fit finish and action is as flawless as the day I got them.
They were one of the first production companies ,back in the day, to start winning Bladeshow awards instead if CRK.
The grinds and stock are a bit thick IMO on most models, but top tier production knives by any standards.
