In light of Mike's Round head barlow I was pushed over the edge on a knife that I have had my eye on since seeing a few a year or so ago.
I thought I would share a few comparison pics of the Lion Steel Opera and a GEC 73 for anyone interested.
Im impressed by the Opera. Essential thoughts:
It came hair whittling sharp.
Love that it has skeletonized liners to cut down the weight.
The lock up is solid with no play whatsoever.
Feels great in the hand.
Hollow grind fits it perfect with a spine that thick.
Only has a half a hair difference in the fit between the liner and blade near the pivot on one side.
The sheath that came with it is ok, not great, wont fit my belt.
Im sure the wood and other handle materials are not as thick in the handle but not certain. I may get an Olive wood later.
Overall, I really like it. More info can be found at ck.net. Thanks Mike.
**The edge in this first shot is not chipped. It had lent or something on it. I was to lazy to repeat the pic.

The jimping on the back of the spring is not noticeable. You really have to press down to feel it. I wouldn't mind if it were more raised.

Here's another thread on it.
