This knife takes some serious pressure to move the lock bar. Had the knife about 3 months and everything is great except when it comes to closing the knife. I have opened and closed the knife at least 2,000 times and it has not loosened up. Lock up is solid and the sleipner steel is great as well as the bronze titanium. But with a retail value of $400 or more I can not give a thumbs up because of the stiffness of the lock bar. Am I the only one with this problem or is this common?

I don't have an SR-1, however, I'd consider that a benefit in terms of the safety of your fingers. A stiff framelock means there's a greater margin of safety as accidental unlocking is pretty much non-existent.

That's the way I like all my Ti framelocks and I'll typically heat and bend the lock bar at the cut out on knives with weak lock so it puts additional pressure on the blade tang. You could probably do the opposite as well, although I've never tried it! ;)

:D

My lionspy has a very stiff bar compared to my other frameworks but it doesn't cause me any discomfort.
