Guys that have a Lionspy tell us about your knife.

Tell us what you like and don't like about your Lionspy. Don't be brief with your comments.

Let's not include f/f issues if they're negitive. We've already had a thread about that.:D

There are quite a few comments in this thread:

http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php/930437-Lionspy-came-today

I'll repeat mine, since my opinions haven't changed since I orginally posted.

I'd been sort of pondering a SR-1 for some time, but when I heard about the LionSpy I decided to wait for it. Being pretty much into Spyderco, it seemed a logical combination for me.

When they started shipping, some of the comments had me a tad reluctant, but I bit the bullet and ordered one.
Showed up and it is perfect! Cannot find a single fault with it (and I looked harder than I normally do).
Lock is a tad hard to disengage, but it is brand new after all. Plus I'd rather have one a little hard to disengage than too easy.

I'll show my ignorance about one thing. I have a couple of Elmax blades but I did not realize you could get as nice of a polish on the blade as the LionSpy has.

Lock has gotten a bit easier to disengage, or either I've just gotten use to it. :D

I don't like it because I don't yet own one. If I owned one I'd change my tune...anyone want to donate to a not very worthy cause and send me one? :D

I love my LionSpy! Feels great in the hand and slices (cardboard not apples) really well considering that thick 5mm blade. Fit and finish is fine for what I expected out of a production knife. I'm diggin' the convex edge as well! Stays nice and sharp with a good strop and .5micron diamond spray.

I do however wish the blade was a more traditional Spyderco style blade. I like having that pointy blade.

i love mine, unfortunately i due to F/F issues i had to send it back to the store i bought it from for a replacement. But i def plan on keeping it!

I had one and traded it.
I did really like the knife, didn't use it but admired it and opened it a few times.

The thing that I really liked about it is the RotoBlock. I think its a simple genius multi functional addition to a rugged knife.

I would hope that with a knife like this that it would have something stand alone or special about it. The SR-1 I think is a better buy, unless you love Elmax.

The fit in the hand was great, it didn't look great but it feels great anyway you hold it.

For me since I just got it basically for the RotoBlock I kinda miss it but don't feel bad since Im getting something else with RotoBlock.

Negative: I wish it came with the glass breaker like the SR-1, but its replaceable so whatever. Its a solid knife.

There are some fit and finish issues, but considering its made in Italy by Lion Steel for Spyderco and its cheaper than the SR-1, you get what you get.

I want one bad!

I'm trying to decide between that, the sr1 and the zt 055x/56x. I need a rugged BA folder!

I have not carried it yet but have cut a few things. Overall it feels great in my hands, flicks open quick with the Spydie Hole and lock up is good. The only thing I do not like is how it rides in my pocket, a little to big for deep pocket carry. I do not use pocket clips as I think they say "hey look I have a knife"!! In most area's that might be fine but I do not like to give any one an idea that I have a knife.
Overall I think she is a great knife that could take some abuse.

I love my sr1 but can't justify buying the lionspy cause I have an sr1 :D

I'm trying really hard not to buy one and swap blades with my SR-1...but I'm sure I will break down as soon as I see one on the exchange at a good price.
