I've seen the Lionspy in person but never held it. I thought it was cool but not something I'd ever want to own. I had some excitement at the announcement of the smaller version just because it seemed more practical. Well this weekend a friend had acquired one brand new in box from a collection and gave me a deal on it I couldn't pass up. I'm typically more into smaller knives and in particular, I love a good slicer. This is definitely neither of those two things but I have to say, I LOVE this knife. Fit and finish are amazing and it just feels right at home in my hands. Zero play at all and lock up is like a vault. The blade appears to favor the g10 side ever so slightly but I think it is prob just an illusion due to the the thickness of the handles. Just wanted to share.

Hey, nice knife! I don't have the LionSpy but I do have the SR1-A and regarding the off center blade, pull the pivot screw out and wrap the threads with a bit of teflon plumbers tape. Reassemble and tighten until it's centered. It should still open smoothly. These LionSteels are very well made knives, enjoy!

I will try that. Thank you. It doesn't particularly bother me but it is otherwise perfect. He also had a purple SR1 with more of a bowie style blade and it was cool but the LionSpy just begged me to take her home.

I have the purple clip point model too. I wanted that bowie blade and I think the purple looks classy ana't.

I love Spyderco and am generally impressed with all of their knives I've owned. This collaborative effort is no different. I am very much looking forward to the smaller version. As much as I really like the way the LionSpy feels in hand, it is a bit much for me to EDC, so a smaller version will probably help it find more pocket time.

The only gripe I have about the LionSpy is that it's too wide for the pocket. LionSpy Mini should remedy that.
