I am considering switching the covers and maybe a blade on my Lionsteel barlows. I have a Shuffler, Warhorse, and Beerlow. I am just wondering if anyone has any experiences to share with doing this? It looks like it should be fairly easy, but I wanted to check and see if anyone has tried it.
Thanks
Here's a pic, because I like posts with pics :)

There’s a guy in a slipjoint group on FB that has done some mods like you’re talking about.

i have tried to swap the covers of my 3 Lionsteel Barlows... one of my barlow have a exceeding pin and some covers don't have a slot for that pin... so i could swap most of the scales from one to another without problem but i would need to cut the exceeding pin to be able to swap all of them... not a big job but i realized a like their original looks better so i finally just tried them then just swap the original back.

Thought I would share my results. Switching covers is as easy as it appears. 2 screws off and on. That's it. All of my screws were flat so none of the issue noted by H Heimdall82
I switched the micarta and olive wood [which I also stained a tiny bit to bring out some grain]. All in all, easy 10 minute project and I'm thrilled. I was disappointed when there was no sheepsfoot Beerlow in wood, but no more!

Cool! Nice job!

I am wondering if the inner-side of the scales is more complicated than just plain ol' flat.

If so, then it shouldn't be too hard to try making custom scales, just drill the holes in the right spot and shape them.

Really fine Stag on the Spear, all excellent quality knives and fine homage to the Barlows of old.
