Lionsteel Daghetta - Carbon Fiber peeling off?

I tried unsuccessfully emailing Lionsteel about this back in July but never received a reply. I admit, I was a little peeved not receiving a peep from Lionsteel, even after filling out a warranty form and providing the warranty details, etc. For some reason it never occurred to me to post the question here and I forgot about it, also in part due to it being mostly an aesthetic concern as the knife still functioned well.

After recently viewing the TM1 folder in carbon fiber on the forums, I was reminded of my issue and decided to post.

So, here it goes:

I purchased the 8701FC model of the Daghetta folder (carbon fiber, black blade) from this reseller in Austria.

Upon receiving the knife, I noticed that the carbon fiber part was peeling off around the pocket clip.

I have attached 2 photos. Is this an indication of a defect? What you are seeing circled in red is the black G10 where carbon fiber used to be, but began peeling off so I removed it.

To me, it looks like a lacquer layer that has rather unfortunately ended up being the milled finished top level.

Ideally, you would want those layers lower down, so that the milling was out of carbon.

I experienced VERY poor customer service from Lionsteel and wound up sending my poorly functioning knife to BladeHQ for an exchange. I will NOT own a Lionsteel knife again.

Sorry I can not answer you, I do not who you are.... You are under a nick name.

Anyway I am sorry to read your mail. Please write again to service@lionsteel.it we will try to recover the mistake.
