I really enjoy fishing and I've been looking for a small rugged fixed blade in stainless steel. This knife is competitively priced at £75 including delivery, so it won't break my fragile funds!

Yes, I will try to post some pics later today when I get home. Its a solid knife for the price.

I love these Italian knives.

I've got the MCKF2 which is the same knife in another steel.
Great knife.
If you have big hands the handle might be small, for me it's no problem

I've also a nexus Tito, which comes nowadays as the Fox Pro Hunter, but I believe still made by lionsteel.
This one with N690Co blade has a bigger handle

Two other interesting Italian knives are :D

Viper pointer also N690Co

But the Lionsteel M2 is a great knife in a handy compact package

I´ve owned LionSteel M2 G10. It´s great little knife! The fit&finish was superb, altough I didn´t like the cordura sheath as much.

The knife sits in the hand very very well, the G10 on handle is rough on its sides bud the belly and the back are soft. The blade has good thickness (not too much but not thin), flat ground enables deep cutting, you can use this knife in the kitchen and in outdoors as well and it will serve you well. The steel holds edge very well and is easy to sharpen.

I would compare the M2 to ZT0350 from Zero Tolerance (I know, that it´s a folder :)). Both knives are almost the same size, almost the same shape, have flat grind and are very precisely finished and you feel you can really depend on them.

I had to sell the LS M2, because I needed money quickly but in the future I´m going either to buy another M2 G10 or I´m going to get custom knife based on the M2 because the overall useful shape of LionSteel M2 impressed me. And the handle is no doubt the best I have ever had in my hand . But I would like about 2 cm more on blade size :D.

And I would recommend buying the G10 version - the G10 is more durable, sits in the hand and don´t worry, the cordura sheath serves good. And you can always make kydex sheath, if you like.

Some pohotos, including comparison to ZT0350WW and Fallkniven F1 and custom fixed knife.

Thank you chaps!

There are very few reviews of this knife (I found one on a German forum), so the info and photos is very much appreciated.

I've definitely put this knife on my shopping list!

You´re welcome! And you´re right - when I was searching info for LS M2 before I decided to buy it, I couldn´t even find any pics from users, there was nothing all around.

It´s a thing I canť understand - such a great useful little knife and it seems, that no one knows it exists. That´s a pity!

vlaender, hopefully this thread might be of some use to other potential purchasers!

I noticed that you have a piece of velcro on the snap of the sheath, did you add that yourself? Was the sheath retention a little bit loose?

If so it doesn't matter so much....I'd like a kydex sheath for it, I'm sure Martin Swinkels could make something excellent for it.

Can you strike a firesteel using the spine of the knife?

I hope so too, LionSteel M2 deserves more interest!

Let´s post more pics - they show the knife in the exact condition I got it. As you can see the velcro is a part of the sheath, even on the snap. I didn´t make any modifications. You can also see that the sheath includes some sort of synthetic leather which prevents that you cut the sheath when deploying the knife. The snap button seems very solid and the knife sits in the sheath without any moves.

But the velcro is the only one thing I didn´t like much. I don´t belive - if you´re going to use the knife and attach it to your belt often - that the velcro can last long. Although thanks to this solution you can attach the sheath to your belt quite easily even with one hand without need to unbuckle it. The cordura sheath will serve, of course, but I would go for custom kydex sheath for sure.

I´m sorry I don´t use firesteel but the edges on the spine are sharp. From what I know I have no doubts that the firesteel will work fine with this knife.
