Hello everyone, I would buy a 'good compact knife for survival / bushcraft or otherwise to use in nature. Do you think is the best M4 Lionsteel, the Fallkniven Fallkniven F1 F1 normal or Pro? Thanks Michele.

Howdy. Those are both modern knives. Let's try this in General Forum instead of Traditional. Moving now...

I believe You will be happy with any of the 3 knives!
I assume that You are able to set Your own edges, as this is way more important, than the choice of knife.
Personally I prefer hidden tang knives in cold conditions.
If You use Your knives in a warm climate, a full exposed tang will work very well!

I don't own a Lionsteel, but I have and use 2 F1's and 1 F1 Pro.
The first F1 is a full exposed tang, made from a bladeblank and I avoid this one for use in the cold season.
The second F1 is a modified standard model in 3G, with Stag handle and it's a dream to use.

The F1 Pro is made for the toughest conditions possible, but if the edge is thinned out it will also do detailed work.
Looking at cost versus function, I think a regular F1 in VG-10 will take decades of use and come out of it on top!

Mikael

Fallkniven F1 in laminated VG10 is fantastic. I've used mine pretty rough in recent times and it did very well.

I have a Fallkniven F1. I bought a blade blank and finished it with green micarta handles and brass corby bolts. I've camped with it, batonned the crap out of it, and it's undamaged. I don't know the Lionsteel knife, but the F1 will do the job for you.
