Can anyone give me additional info about this knife? I heard it is limited to only 100 consumer available pieces; however, I found no mention of this knife, its availability, and full specifications on the LionSteel website. I am interested in buying this knife, but I am a little hesitant to do so, unless I know that this folder is indeed a LionSteel produced and supported (with LionSteels warranty).

Just recieved mine and it's solid, multi-grind on both sides w/glass breaker. my understanding is it was made for the Swiss police and an additional 100 units for the public. It's PVD coated (cutting edge (no pun intended) coating technology) it NOT light but I plan on getting the Cuscadi CF scales and trying it out as a EDC, will post pics when this happens. I heard you can purchase direct from http://www.cuscadi.de/2012/03/11/lionsteel-pm-1-exklusiv-bei-uns/ for approx. 245 shipped, I paid more than that from a dealer.

Does this mean the PM-1 is not limited too just 100 consumer pieces Gianni? I still bought one because I like the look, and I needed another LionSteel folder after my SR-1. But I would of liked to own a rarer knife :(.

For the PM-1 I am only the producer. I do not control the sales. It means that I can not decide how many pieces are introduced in the market. It is a OEM project.

I got a PM-1 about a week ago. Very serious and robust. Kind of tight opening it even after lubrication and many opening and closing. Closing it one-handed is nearly impossible.

How can make it operate smoother?

How many have been manufactured for consumers?

How many for the Swiss police?

update: IMO the limited 100 pieces was a marketing tactic, well it worked and I got one (and sold it off), it's well made yes, I tried to service it and no go, the inside (under the scales) are some type of rivet (not serviceable by myself with my tools). this is the main reason i decided to let it go. just my 2 cents :grumpy:

You can try adjusting the pivot with the supplied tool.

I wanted to strip and clean it after few hundred cycles (open/closing) but ran into a problem, see my post above.

closing one handed? I know you can do it against your leg or something but is there another way to close a lockback with just one hand?

#piece's because they are not "numbered" and the Mod's comment that multiple 100 piece runs are being made.

It has gotten somewhat smoother and it's a serious self-defense knife. Not the fastest deployment but it fits my hand well and like the shape of the blade. Closing it not easy but not an issue. I'll work on adjusting it a little at a time with the provided tool. Also, the clip is way too small for American tastes.

As I mentioned in the pictures thread, got mine today and it is exceptionally smooth opening.

Everything about it seems perfect and looks to be one tough knife!

Now, my PM-1 opens smoothly after a couple of hundred open/close cycles. I can even close it one-handed! When it opens and locks back and when it's fully closed it's as tough as a bank vault! Very comfortable handle and quite a tough little beast. Very well made.

I guess it's the luck of the draw. As I said, mine was smooth right out of the box. Not sure if I will ever master closing it one handed .... but that's fine with me! Couldn't agree with you more. Very well-made knife. Kudos to the folks at LionSteel!

Soon there will be the PM2.... :D:D

Ooooooooo! Details? No, never mind. I would rather be surprised. I LOVE surprises! Thanks Gianni. As I have said before .... love the knives coming out of LionSteel!
