Lionsteel ROK Issues

Hello all. Recently purchased a Lionsteel ROK in all black. Absolutely beautiful knife BUT it is way, way too stiff. No way to open it with one hand. It's a flipper, but in no way can I get it to flip. I'm too new at this to trust myself to take it apart so I just blew out the action with compressed air and applied some KPL. Didn't help at all. I emailed Lionsteel at the only contact email I could find on Sunday: care@lionsteel.it. Crickets. I emailed them again on Wednesday, same thing. Any advice? Thanks much in advance.

From my experience, a lot of my own suppliers take extended holidays around Christmas and New Years. Some of my suppliers just got back to work on Wednesday and others won't be back until January 10th.

Thanks for that tid bit. I'll check back with them in another week.

I just got one today too, a titanium version. The action is pretty good on mine, no issues whatsoever. Are you sure you're not putting pressure on the frame lock when you're trying to open it? Or maybe your pivot is a bit too tight. No idea how difficult it would be to remove and reinstall the blade but if it's easy maybe worth a shot in case a simple cleaning and lube would make it smoother. That said, a lot of knives I get are stiff out of the box for a while until they break in a bit. I'd maybe fidget with it for a few days and see if it loosens up on its own before doing anything else.

Lionsteel takes forever to respond to emails.

Assuming you are still waiting after 5 months, try sending one directly to Andrea - andrea@lionsteel.it

EDIT - disregard. OP hasn't even been online since Jan. 20th.

leaving the OP out of this (😁) since he's away for a while now, i have to comment that Andrea has helped me with an issue before, always answering my emails

No problems w/my ROK except for dropping it on concrete once. :(

Fortunately, that incident only left a minor minor mark but, of course, whenever I pick it up, my eye goes straight towards it. LOL! ;)

Still a beautiful knife but one that I won't carry anymore because, while the inlaid spring operated clip is "rad," I can't rely on it to keep it in my pocket.

So, it's staying in my safe until I decide to sell it. 🤷‍♂️
