Hello Knife Nuts,

Holy freakin' cow that's a good looking knife! Classy but functional. Simple yet elegant. Love the smooth lines and the blend of new and old. Just a really well done piece in my opinion. I've liked them since I first saw one about a year ago but ya' know, I still had that whole slip joint hang up going on and never took the plunge.

But I'm over that nonsense and planning my next "big" knife purchase. It'll be a while but I'm starting my research now. The Chambriard Compact and the Roundhead are currently very high on the list.

I know it was a CK collaboration but not much more. Is the Roundhead discontinued? Was it just a limited run? I've seen different answers so I'm not sure. If it is no longer being made it will definitely move it up the list.

As always, thanks in advance. :)

There’s been a few waves of Lionsteel slipjoints, I’d guess there will be more.

If you can’t find what you want, I’d watch the exchange. They pop up for sale from time to time.

Hard telling what Mike has up his sleeve but I wouldn't be surprised to see some more Roundheads in the future. If you haven't already, be sure to take a look at the Shuffler and the Dom too. Same knife, different blades. Also the Warhorse that Mike is currently taking reservations for.

Chambriard Compact is a great knife

The Lionsteel Roundhead is still available on Mike's website, as well as the Shuffler. I liked the clip blade of the Shuffler better:

Either one would make a great addition to your rotation.

Did I help feed the fever?

While you're looking at CK, I suggest you take a look at my newest favorite of the line, Otnat

One of my favourite knives of last year and a big surprise as I'm not a massive Barlow addict. I like the refreshing change of interpretation , not only are these knives wonderfully finished (the tubular liners&backspring are genius) but they are not heavy in the pocket. Now I have Bolus obsessions-If I can land the right Ram's Horn;)

The Chambriard Compact is an entirely different style of knife though. Sort of modern Thiers knife, updated Laguiole if you like, good thick scales all stainless construction and a distal taper blade that's set to slice.

Wait til the blue / gold Ti bolsters and damascus blades hit... You can run the T6 all day long.

Thank you sir. I'm not still not completely certain though, are they currently out of production? Are those on your site the left over stock or can I rest easy knowing there's being cranked out? A t least right now.

Coming...

I bought a Roundhead in CF from Mike last Friday. Still in stock today it seems.

Knife was shipped same day and arrived in Las Vegas Tues or Wed. Unfortunately I am in Toronto and won’t get the knife until tomorrow as my wife was there on business.
