Im in favor of the sr1a. Its one piece aluminum handle with rotoblock is badass. Steel insert on the frame lock makes for longer lasting strong lockups. Zero bladeplay anywhere on the 3.7in german D2 blade. Pefect ergos. The overall looks of the sr1a are more appealing to me than the zt. Lets hear what the masses have to say.

I'd get the SR-1 it's one heck of a knife from what I hear!!

Oh and welcome to the forums!!

Both are great. Given the choice between the two I'd take the 301. The 301 feels a bit better in my hand, though I'm always cautious about assisted openers I think this is the best execution of one I've used, and between D2 and s30v, s30v gets the slight edge from me. Not only that, but the general ruggedness and super durable nature of the knife (and the lockup for that matter) has been tested through more use and abuse tests than almost any other knife on the planet. For me the only 2 drawbacks on a 301 are how big it rides in the pocket (elegant it is not sadly) and the recurve blade doesn't make sharpening any more fun.

I'd get the one that is the thinnest behind the edge. I know that may seem like a weird attribute to make a deciding factor, but I've found that I carry knives more if they cut better.

My favourite, even when compared against the mighty SR1 or Lionspy, the Zt0300 series:

The ZT's have better steel S30v vs. D2, huge bronze phospher washers as compared to the SR1's teflon, and it is super easy to strip down an 0300 for cleaning whereas I've heard the SR1's are a beeyotch to reassemble (the zt has a 3/8" pivot nut so you can use a dremel wrench and a #8 Torx bit for the handle screws).

Lock-up is a non-issue as well; the black 0300 in my pic has the stoutest lock up of any Ti framelock I've ever had. It has been used to cut lengthwise through two foot chunks of 2X12" pressure treated lumber with zero lock movement.

+1
The ZT gets my vote.

My vote goes to the 301.

I wouldn't count on the robo lock on the SR 1 making the lockup any stronger than the HD 301.
