Anyone have a Lionsteel T6 in 3v? What are your thoughts about it? I have a few Lionsteels (T5, M4, M2M) and love them. Currently looking around for a good chopper. Thinking the T6 may fit the bill but maybe I’m just looking for an excuse to buy another Lionsteel. Is it too small to serve in the role of a chopper? Maybe I should just go to something like an Esee Junglas and call it a day. Thoughts?

I've had a T6 in K490 since they first dropped. To answer your first question, I love it! It's a bigger and badder T5 essentially.
As for your second question, I personally would look elsewhere for a chopper. The T6 is in that weird size class where it's a little too big and unwieldy for bushcraft and finer tasks, and not quite heavy enough or long enough to be a great chopper. I would consider it a large camp knife/survival knife, can do everything you need adequately or good, but master of none. The lanyard hole is also only through the micarta and not the tang so I wouldn't trust a retention strap for chopping.
Don't have one, yet, but the lionsteel M7 looks like it would be a great chopper and gives you that excuse you need for another lionsteel. 😉

l like the way you think!! I’ll get the T6 and probably the M7 a bit down the road. Those Lionsteels are a hard habit to kick. Thanks for the feedback

I also snagged a t6 in k490 the moment they dropped. It's is an awesome knife, and one of the most comfortable handles I've tried in its size range.

Even though it is 0.22" thick, it has great edge geometry because the blade is so broad. I agree with bear4142's assesment. If you're in the market for a dedicated chopper, then the t6 won't be the best option. But if you want a workhorse than can do many tasks acceptably well, it's an awesome all-rounder.

I'm also considering the M4 or the T5, then saw the T6. If the T6 isn't great as a chopper/all-around use knife, then how about this. M4/T5 as the general use knife and a Condor Mini Duku or K-Tact as the chopper? Between the M4 and T5, it seems like the T5 is the way to go.

Usage is primarily motorcycle camping, so a general-use knife plus firewood (purchased) prep. I would probably use the chopper in my backyard for firewood prep as well.

I like the T5/ Condor Mini Duku or Pack Golok combination. Already have the T5 (great knife btw). I did end up buying the T6 and that is one beautiful hunk of 3V steel. I was blown away at how beautiful and ergonomic that knife is. A chopper is up next, probably the Mini Duku to pair with the T5

I have a tm1 but will not be purchasing anymore lionsteel knives. I need a replacement pocket clip and it is going to cost 45$ with shipping. This is ridiculous.

Italian. Nuff said. I really love their fixed blades but it has never occurred to me to buy their folders. I stick with Spydercos and Cold Steels for folding knives. The pocket clip rip-off aside, are their folders any good?

Every Lionsteel I had couldnt featherstick due to some wierd bevel angle I had to regrind it to work as it should. I had B41, M3 M4, M2M. Now I ordered T6 in 3V, I wonder what angle will it have, and will I have to regrind it from the factory.
