Here is a razor that I finished. The blade is 1095 sandwiched in wrought iron. The blade section is about 1.125 x 3. The scales are G10. It is a big chunk of razor.

Thanks to Dan Graves for his help/teaching me/doing it. in making the wrought iron 1095 blank.

Beautiful. What a classy way to shave that would be.

Fine work there Cousin Charlie. Hard to describe my thought on this style - other than I've got a feeling somebody's great great grandsons are likely to start a feud over who eventually gets to take it home! Great and timeless design; G10 and WI, yeah buddy.

That isn't the blank we saw at Dan's last month though - is it?

Yes, This is the blank from Dan Graves Hammer-in. Thanks to Dans and Johnny Warner's instruction and showing me what to look for I have been on a forge welding frenzy lately.

Thank you guys for the kind words about my work.

Wow. I didn't realize the 1095 was sandwiched in the WI when you showed us the blank. Was the CS dropped into a groove in the WI or ???

This razor has some great textures all around. Can I ask how you worked the G10 to get that finished surface? I imagine that will help make it "grippy" when wet. Nice to look at too!

It is just three layers, wrought iron,1095, wrought iron. No grooves or folding just tacked together like a sandwich with wire welder then forge welded together.

The G10 was textured with a carbide wheel/disk maybe 1"X 1/16 it was a dremel brand wheel. I put it in my little air powered die grinder and pecked away randomly.

I still need to snag one of your razors down the road Charlie! I love working with WI/1095 SanMai. Great work

Charlie was that the WI you got from me? I still haven't finished any of mine yet.

I have more when you need it... much much more

Jason, the wrought iron on this blade came from USA Knifemaker. I appreciate and am now using the wrought iron that I got from you, hopefully in a few/three weeks I will have some razors finished with the wrought iron that I got from you.

Too cool! I knew when we made the billet that something neat was going to come out of it. Great job Charlie. I just got thru spending a month re-modeling my house and need to have you guy's down again. Just got to catch up on orders. Have you done anything with the other? Love it Charlie.

That turned out very nice Charlie, I love Wrought Iron san mai and that looks like some very nice slaggy wrought.
