My supplier just tripled prices, so I'm searching for a new supplier. So far, no luck but I did find the following of great interest.

Take a ping-pong ball and poke a small hole in it. The hole has to be tangental to the sphere of the ball. When poking the hole use a pin and the pin should be almost flat agianst the ball. Basically you want a hole in the side of the ball that will cause the ball to spin. Submerge this ball into the liquid nitrogen and let it fill up. Place the ball on a table and watch it spin. As the nitrogen goes back to a gas it will rush out the hole and presto!! It's pretty cool. If it does not spin try placing your hand on it to warm it to get it started.

Freeze a can of shaving cream and then peel the can away from the cream. Put the canless cream into someone's car. Let the oven-like heat from the car's sitting in the sun defrost the shaving cream. 2 cans will fill an entire car.

if i had known about that in highschool i would have done it to a few friends of mine. i wonder how many it would take to fill the cab of IG's truck. HEHEHEHE!!!!!! :D :thumbup: :jerkit:
 
how much has your Ln2 gone to? The last 30l dewar I filled up cost around $65 at Praxair.
 
I've been getting it at Praxair in Red Deer for 1.28 CDN a litre. They have boosted their prices - provincewide - to $3.00 per litre. I'm not having much luck finding something better.

At that price, I won't be freezing shaving cream.

who told you?!?!?!?!?!?! i told that donkey to never tell a sole!!! thats it me and him are thru!!! :D HEHEHEHE!!! i just hope that when i get the chance to goto IG's place that he doesnt have any liquid nitrogen. :D:D:D :eek: :eek:

By donkey you mean ass, Only person around hear by that name is IG :)
 
I used to use an icepick on the shaving cream. You can also fill a soda machine that eats money with one can... not that I'd do such a thing... well, not lately..
 
Rob,

Have you tried BOC or AirLiquide here in Calgary. Might be worth giving them a call.
