Look away if you don't like 389s - they are made in China. But here is the list of 389s I put together. Let me know if there are any errors, omissions, or additions. I thought the list was going to be bigger. Also, I didn't pay that much attention to the "Years" column. There are tons of people calling the 0389BNS Jigged Amber Bone, but the part number is for Jigged Brown Bone. Also, there a a lot of color variation seen with that part number.

Edit: Revised table (version 2)

Thanks for the list. For the longest time it seemed like I was the only one with a big interest in the ChinaBuck slippies and always intended to do a similar list. Off hand I think I have pretty much all you list but will need to check closely. I see two you might be missing.

Blue Jigged Bone 2007 KBH shield centered.
Yellow Delrin 2007 KBH shield offset to R

Thanks. I am missing quite a few, I think. Do you happen to know the part #'s for the ones I need to add? I like these slippies, especially the 2007/2008 ones. Do I need to remove the one I have shown as Yellow Bone? I thought those were bone. 389Y. I went though 145 pages of Worthpoint and didn't see a blue jigged bone one. Was that from smkw too?

The two I mentioned came to me "naked" so no box or cat #.
I was referring to the shield placement, sometimes they are centered on the handle and sometimes not.
Very old picture but look at the shield placements. In the middle row the yellow Delrin is at the top and the blue Jigged Bone is third from the bottom. What part numbers I can find will need to be for a future project, As you can see the knives are not in their boxes and stuff is not well organized. (I'm always hopeful 🤣)

Wow. That is a good collection. So it looks like I should remove the yellow bone one and replace it with yellow Delrin with the 389Y part number.

What is the difference between the white ones in the center column, besides one not having a shield?

The top knife in the center column is Yellow Delrin. I do not believe there was a Yellow Smooth Bone.
The 3rd knife down is White Smooth Bone. Note it does not have a shield.
The two White knives at the bottom, one with and one without a shield, are Poly-Pearl.
The 4th knife in the right column in a non factory custom. Asian Water Buffao, by Heath Stone is my recollection.

is there a difference in the dates between the two polypearls? one with shield and one without. Edit: It looks, from some more research that the one with the shield has the part number 389WP. It also looks like they are both from the same 2007ish time frame. The one without the shield appears to be the one in the combo pack. Also, on my list, I showed the one with the shield as MOP-white. But I am sure that it isn't real MOP. But is is polypearl, it seems milkier than polypearl from the examples I've seen on the web?

DeSotoSky DeSotoSky those look fantastic! Do you happen to know if any 37x's were offered in yellow delrin?
I've only seen the yellow Delrin in the 385 Toothpick and 389 Canoe. Mine were purchased separately without box but the combination suggests to me they may have originally been a combo.

Jamal, I'll admit to some confusion between the two. The one without shield is definitely poly and was part of CMBO22. It has that "cracked-ice" appearance. I had a notion the one with shield was MOP but never sure. It is milkier as you say. I didn't start collecting until 2011 so working backwards trying to find all the 2007 stuff meant a lot of them came without boxes so I couldn't document. I'll have to check but think they are both 2007 but the CMBO22 tin is labeled as the 2008 Collectors Edition.

I don't think the 385/389 yellow were ever in a combo. This one was, however, which I call jigged orange bone but have never seen the other side of the clamshell card. I wonder if the jigged blue and the jigged red bone were marketed similarly.

working backwards - yes I have the same problem, but I'm over a decade later. There are many examples of both on Worthpoint, but most don't have boxes. For the ones that do have boxes, they don't show the part number. They just needed to open the box flap in the picture - that's all I'm asking. :) I'm going to call the one with the shield MOP because I don't think it was marketed as polypearl. I am basing this on one instance where someone said the part number was 389WP - but I didn't see the box for proof of that.

H Happy Hippo Best guess, do you think those carded jig Bones were a SFO for WM or SMKW?
For the polypearl ones, I have seen cards for both - same part number but "" WM" added to one. I'm going to say the three jigged ones were not SMKW but may have followed the model of the polypearls - one available to dealers, one for WM. Or if I had to pick one, I'd go for WM. The reason I don't think it was SMKW is that they already had all this other stuff going on, and none of it was carded. Unfortunately, I have never seen the card for the blue or red, and only the front for the orange.
