For those interested in the forged knife and possibly a maker that may be near you, the American Bladesmith Society has recently published a book with all their members name and rating with their addresses. The book is $2.00 and has a $2.00 coupon in the back for knife purchase. It has sosme interesting reading in it about the formation of the ABS and how it got started. This is the first time that something like this has been printed by the ABS that I know of. It also gives some of the makers mark or logo and web site. And you can get your money back when you buy a knife from one of the members.
I don't know if this is suposed to go in this catagory or not, but it looked like a good place to start. Sorry if I got it in the wrong place.

You can e-mail Kay Cordova at the ABS web site. This is really a pretty good deal. You can get the names of all the members. etc. and all it really costs is postage. (If you buy a knife from a member later on). I like to know who is making knives and where they live, as sometimes, on a vacation, I may be going close by and all it takes is a phone call to find out if a visit is exceptable at that time. I have learned a few things from time to time like this.
I also like to count my friends and see how many more I got to go before I can meet them all.
