Sorry I posted this in the wrong forum. Mod's, can you move this to the Spyderco forum?
Hi, I'm trying to make a list of all the different Hunter/Pro-Grip(Venator) models and am stuck with the following.
The first C03 Hunters had a rather straight blade with not so much belly. In the Spyderco book, an 'Drop Point folder' advertisement shows a Hunter with a 60/40 Pro-Grip blade as a refinement model for '95. According to Sal, 1200 were made of these.
But, are these the same as the IronStone C03 Hunter that's mentioned here on the forum by Sal, or is that a different model? (couldn't find a pic of that).
And another question, why is the latest Pro-Grip (SS) made with a 40/60, 50/50 and 75/25 blade? (I found pics of all these types)
Just curious about the reasoning for that.
Thanks,
Ted

... The 5th one is a hybrid model that we made during the transition from the C03 "Hunter" model to the C13 "Pro-grip" model. We only made about 1200 pcs so it is not common. It is a very nice piece. Made for hard use.
But, are these the same as the IronStone C03 Hunter that's mentioned here on the forum by Sal, or is that a different model? (couldn't find a pic of that).
... The Iron Hunter is the C01 (Also C03) handle with the C13 blade. As Ewok said, it was an Ironstone exclusive. Since Ironstone closed up, I'm not sure where they went. You might check with Spyderco.
