I know stripping a bk is nothing new, I'm in the garage on this beautiful day my creator has granted me and ive got John Coltrane on the juke, dailing in the 9 (akwelke sheath, strip and blue today) micarta and maxpidition barnacle on the way. this is indeed a great day and makes me think this is why we work. Pictures to follow , I got my hands full right now. I just had to say something!

Very nice man....how long did the process take ya?

Two rounds of aircraft stripper 10 mins. Each. Washed off real good with water. Once over with red scotchbrite and 1000 grit wet dry sand paper.wipe down.44/40 gun blue works instantly. Wipe down with oil. go over edge a little with sharpener , and it was done. I read on this forum about tapeing off under handles and bolt back on and trim around and it worked great to keep factory coating under scales. Wish I could remember who said it to give them credit. 1.5 hrs. Max time

looks good!

that Juke is the shiznit man! LOl i thought when u said ''on the juke'' it was just a turn of phrase, but no, by gawd u Meant a ''Juke''!

Your livin' the lush life bro, nice looking blade. That sheath looks real nice, have you worn it for any length of time?? Comfy?

An actual jukebox. That is too sweet.

I like the way you stripped that Bowie, with the finish still intact on the tang. Very well done. So is the AZWelke kydex. I need to set up one of my 9's that way.

My older married sister had a jukebox when i was growing up and I always wanted one. I was fresh out of college 1985 and I worked in a small town where people could advertise things for sale on the radio. I heard one day " 1962 seeburg 100 with 2 sets of records I couldn't afford it but went to my boss and said I need to borrow some money and iv'e really enjoyed it every since!

On that sheath, how does the retention compare to the BK2 stock sheath? Same amount of force required to disengage blade?

Very nice..and I like your choice of music and the jukebox!

my parents were older than most of my friends parents and my dad turned me on to some cool tunes and an appreciation of alot of different genres in music,(benny goodman, artie shaw, john coltrane, louis armstrong, even caruso. The jukebox when I bought it in 1985 had alot of good stuff on it!

I would say it takes a little more to get it out. I took it camping and seen grown men that couldn't figure how to get it out,on the other hand I showed my wife , who's on the petite side , one time how to do it and told her it's about attitude when removing the knife and your incharge of it ;use a little snap to get it out and she did it the very first time and totally digs that blade.

I saw on this forum how to tape under the scales, bolt back on ,trim around and strip to retain stock coating on the tang. I dont know who said it but the credit goes to him. Anything good I do to knives the credit belongs to this forum! thank you all for all the great information and good heartedness, you all ROCK!

okay, how many records can be chopped up? :)

not the coltrane of course. pick something like country music or that rock and roll :)
