I am retiring next week. I have sold some of my knife collection to a dealer last year. I am considering selling some more and many are Bucks of different collectability. I recently saw a Buck 111 Classic sell for $369 on the bay! The same dealer has several other listed for close to the same. Have the values gone up that much? Walmart is selling the Buck 110s for $99 now?

I know many of us here look for bargains and I may post some here to sell when I decide too, but I want to get a sense from you all as to value these days.

When I sold a part of my collection last year, I mainly looked to get what I paid and a bit more on some of them. They sold for three to four times what I sold them for.

Well I certainly wouldn't be selling any knives to that same dealer again.

3-4 times......?😣

I agree, but I mostly gave him prices I wanted that were a bit more then I paid. Things have just gone up way beyond what I would pay for an item.

It depends a lot on which model and year of production. In general, prices are increasing, but the biggest increases seem to be on the limited release knives or knives that were standard production at one point and are no longer offered. Standard 110s, 102s, 105s, etc. don't appreciate much unless they are very early versions.

In a particularly weird example, I recently bought what seems to be a brand new 102 1962/63 barrel nut with original factory grind lines/edge, new sheath, and original box for $84 at auction on the bay. A new one today is $89.99.

I recommend you sell yourself and not to a dealer. This forum and the bay are both easy places to sell, and you'll get market price, which will almost certainly net you more.

It would be great if you listed some here, there are many collectors here and you know your blades would be going to a good home that really enjoyed them, and not just to somebody looking to make a quick profit. ;) Got some details/pics of your collection? Love to see 'em!

Price depends on the exact model..BOTM, buildouts, limited edition rare color or handle see the biggest increase.. Some incredibley so! eBay sold listings are your best resource. Box paperwork sheath can also dramatically affect price. Just ask the folks who collect 184's..

Thanks for the comments. Some are rare and some not. I use to buy all the limited runs and other models. I have to go through what I would want to sell and what I want to keep. I agree listing them here would be my first step as I am a long time member here.
