Lite Machete help - uneven blade

I received the lite machete I ordered and was checking it out and noticed something. When holding the machete and looking down the back of the blade, I noticed the blade was not straight. I ran my fingers across the back sides of the blade and felt where it was uneven - on the spine. Does anyone else have this on their lite machete??

Another thing I noticed upon inspection is on the edge of the blade, it looks like someone used the machete to hit something hard enough to put a nice "dent" in the blade which thankfully, I was able to kinda sorta correct. There is a grinding mark on the blade just before the handle where the blade coating was removed. I havent seen this on anyone else's lite machete pictures. Just wondering what the deal is here with this lite machete. I bought this for collection purposes, if it was going to be a user I probably wouldnt care. I've been an owner and user of Rat Cutlery for years and love their knives. I've never had a problem with anything rat cutlery I've bought until now. Any help/commets? Thanks in advance.

Since it is a collection, seems as if you will have to get all of the ESEE branded knives too...since they are not called RAT Cutlery anymore.

The blade is not straight as in it is bent right or left when looking down the spine?

pics would help - both here and when you send the email to Jeff.
(but especially here - hint, hint...)

It's a machete. I dig the collection bit, but I don't inspect my circular saw blades that closely.

Agreed. Dood, it's a machete- go smash it into something. :D If you're not happy, the ESEE guys will take care of you no matter what. But I bet you won't care about those little imperfections after you've used the blade a bit.

aren't these basically stamped out of sheet steel? i don't know of any factory machetes with a squared spine.
